Asian Bank of Arizona Receives Approvals to Organize

PHOENIX : March 15, 2006: Asian Bank of Arizona (in organization) has received regulatory approval to begin raising start-up capital. Les M. Gin, president of the proposed community bank is working with local business and community leaders to raise approximately $8 million in capital for the first Asian bank in Arizona. The proposed bank will be located in the Cofco Chinese Cultural Center at 668 North 44 th Street in Phoenix.

“The Asian community in Arizona represents a vibrant and diverse cross-section of many different cultures which, from a business perspective, offers unlimited opportunities for a relationship-based bank,” said Gin. “We have built a local management team to ensure we approach our business with appreciation of, and sensitivity to, our varied constituency.”

Gin added that the bank will focus its services on the owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses as well as business professionals and entrepreneurs. “Our name is indicative of our cultural background and experiences. We are using this as a foundation for our community bank and will complement it by providing our clients with comprehensive financial services. Our approach to relationship banking is ‘we speak your language.’ That means we speak the language of business and many of our employees are fluent in several Asian dialects. With our community-based structure we will be able to remain close to our customers and truly understand how to create financial solutions to help them be successful in their professional endeavors as well as in meeting their personal financial goals.”

Gin has more than 27 years of financial services experience and has spent his entire career in Arizona. He is active in many community organizations including the Pan Asian Community Alliance, the Tucson Chinese Association, Asian-Pacific American Advisory Council, Chinese American Citizens Alliance and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Joining Gin on the board of directors for the proposed bank are:

John S. Lewis Western Regions President, Capitol Bancorp Limited
Garry K. Ong Owner, G. O. Enterprises, Ltd.
Tony K.C. Tang Principal, Tony Tang Architect Ltd.
Keith Wong CEO, Proftron Holdings, LLC

“What will ultimately differentiate Asian Bank of Arizona from other financial institutions is our sincere interest in, and involvement with our community at many different levels. We understand the local economic climate and our business and credit decisions will be made here, by the local management team,” added Gin.

The organizing group has targeted a spring opening, pending all final approvals. For more information about the share offering or to request a prospectus, contact Les Gin at 623-977-3799.
